A Note from Raul Sandoval, Principal

We had a great first and second day of school! Students were full of smiles and the humid weather reminded us that summer isn’t over yet.  As we begin to establish our school routines, please remember that the first few days of school come with bus delays and slow car dismissals.  In order to make dismissal as efficient and smooth as possible we need all students’ mode of dismissal to be accurate in PikMyKid.  Please remember to update your child’s dismissal to car , bus , walker , or aftercare .  If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Dallow at rdallow@roselandnjboe.org .  By the end of the first week (and with your help), it’s usually a well-oiled machine! 

For our new families, welcome once again! This email (also known as the Wednesday Notification) is the main source of communication for our school community.  Every Wednesday, we send out this newsletter.  You will find flyers, important dates, announcements, and other information.  We promise to keep it concise as we know you are all very busy!

This week I will be holding assemblies for all grade levels.  This is a great opportunity for me  to welcome all students back, review rules and expectations, and share what’s in store for the year.  For our 5th and 6th we will be going into the code of conduct and middle school!  For all students, we will discuss the The Big 5 Noecker Norms : 

• Greet People

• Please, Thank You, Excuse Me

• Move Respectfully

• Assume the Best

• Leave Things Better Than You Found Them

The fifth norm builds on last year's “Big 4” theme.  Our goal is to continue to foster a positive school climate.  

Back to School Nights

Our Back to School Nights will be on the following dates:

• Wednesday, September 13th - Grades Pre-K-2, 6:00 -7:30 pm

• Thursday, September 14th - Grades 3-6, 6:00 - 7:30 pm

Genesis Parent Portal and Student Attendance

As we mentioned in the Parent Welcome Letter , you are now able to mark your child absent or tardy in the parent portal.  Please click here to view the parent guide.

PaySchools

For student lunch accounts, please make sure to turn the auto replenishment setting to “ON.”  The system default is currently set to “OFF.”
