A Note from Raul Sandoval, Principal

For Black History month, students have been learning about the contributions of African Americans throughout our history.  In first grade, they learned about Jackie Robinson through a readworks.org article and a Brainpop Jr. video as part of their literacy block.  In third grade students created art projects recognizing Dr. King’s famous “I have a dream” speech, and displayed them in the hallways.  I look forward to visiting more classrooms throughout the month of February to see what students are learning about.

Books Are In The Bag Contest

Mrs. Schimmel is excited to announce that she is holding a  book character contest! All students received a brown paper bag today along with contest guidelines.  This contest is OPTIONAL, but most of the students seem very excited about it.  All entries will receive a bookmark. In addition, one entry per grade will win a $15 gift certificate to spend at the book fair, courtesy of the HSA.  Please email Mrs. Schimmel with any questions.  hschimmel@roselandnjboe.org
