A Note from Deanne Somers, Superintendent

Welcome Back, Noecker Families! We are all thrilled to be just over one week away from seeing the smiling faces of our Noecker students! Staff has been busy learning, reconnecting, and readying classrooms for students’ arrival on September 9th. Thank you to all of those who have worked so hard to prepare for our Reopening 2.0! Please stay safe, aware of travel restrictions, check in with summer reading and assignments , and review the August Packet ! This year Noecker School is Going Places! If not as literally as we’d hoped, figuratively and virtually!

The NJDOH released updated guidelines *yesterday,* so the Reopening 2.0 Plan will be updated as needed shortly. Please review the current Health & Safety Reopening 2.0 Presentation for updates for the 2021-2022 school year, as well as be reminded of the Reopening Page of our website, the Reopening 2.0 FAQ , and the LCN COVID Dashboard . The presentation will be reshared when updated; there are minimal changes with regards to health and safety measures! Important to note that the majority of our health and safety measures in place last spring will remain in place for the 1st Trimester.

A Note from Raul Sandoval, Principal

I am providing last week’s information for our new families below.  I have also added a New Staff Meet and Greet for Thursday.  Please see below!

For families that are new to the district, this e-blast is our Wednesday Notification.  It will be your primary source of information on “what’s happening” at Noecker.  You can access previous Wednesday Notifications via the following link: Wednesday Notification Archive .  If you have not reviewed the August Mailing folder please click here .

Bus Route Information

Your child’s busing information is available on the Genesis Parent Portal .  If you are new to the district, your information may not be in the system yet.  If there are any questions or concerns please contact our School Secretary, Mrs. Dallow, at rdallow@roselandnjboe.org

New Staff Meet and Greet

In addition to our Kindergarten and Pre-K parent Meet and Greet you will have an opportunity to meet our new staff.  Please meet us in front of the school at 3:00 pm on Thursday, September 2nd to say hello.

A Note from Dr. Richard Celebre, Director of Special Services

Happy Wednesday and (almost) welcome back! We are just over one week away from the first day of school for students, so I wanted to update the community on a few important items.

 New Hires

We have excited new hires that we brought into our Department this summer. The Special Education Department welcomed Ms. Maria Benevenia & Mr. Michael Peck to our Special Education teaching staff, as well as Ms. Meredith Del Bello as our new School Social Worker. Please take a moment to read their introductions !

Start Dates for Services/Instruction

As I previously mentioned, all related services will begin on September 20th, so as to ensure service providers have the opportunity to properly schedule and coordinate times with teachers. Instructional programming will begin on day one, on September 9th. For students whose instruction takes place in the Resource/Replacement Classroom setting, your teachers will be reaching out directly prior to the start of the school year to introduce themselves. Then, on the first day of school, they will begin picking up their students for class to help acclimate them to the new routines this school year.

Cross Programming

As has been noted, Special Education programming will run as outlined in IEPs, with students moving between special education classes and general education classes this year as needed within their individualized plans. With the implementation of cross programming, while still limiting the crossing of cohorts to the greatest extent possible, we will be closely monitoring the impact this has on potential quarantining situations as the year unfolds. For this reason, it is especially important that students who are not feeling well stay home and are monitored closely for symptoms.

Case Management

I thank you all for your patience with the Child Study Team this past summer as we worked to establish our new case managers/caseloads for your children going into next school year. If you are impacted by a change in case manager, either Ms. Hunkele & Ms. Martinelli will be reaching out to you directly (if they haven’t done so already!) to introduce themselves. For children on Ms. Del Bello’s caseload, an email will be coming out from me directly with information for the first month of the school year.

That is all that I have for now! As always, our Special Services Google Site is live and being uploaded consistently and continues to be a great place for resources for both you as parents navigating the world of Special Education, and your children as students!
