November 17, 2021

A Note from Raul Sandoval, Principal

During our morning announcements we included a daily message about American Education Week.  Today we recognized our educational support professionals.  Although these individuals don’t officially carry the title of Teacher, they teach, inspire, motivate, and support our students in many different ways.  Educating children is a tall task, especially in today’s world.  Without these support professionals, Noecker would not be the special place it is.  We thank them for all that they do each and every day for our students.

A reminder that November 24th is the deadline to meet our goal for Table to Table .  If you would like to help us meet our goal, please click here for the link to Noecker’s Table to Table donation page.

Noecker Cares will host its first after school meeting on Tuesday, November 30th from 3:30-4:00 . All 5th and 6th graders are able to join. If your child is joining please send a note or email to your child's homeroom teacher letting them know they will be staying until 4:00pm. They must have transportation from the school at that time. We will be giving out the full year schedule at the first meeting.  - Ms. Buccelli & Mrs. Chartoff

We ask that you remain in your vehicle during drop off and pick up; doing so makes arrival and dismissal run smoothly and safely.  We understand that some students may need assistance exiting your vehicle during drop off.  Unless it is absolutely necessary, we ask that your child have all of their belongings at the ready and that they exit the vehicle unassisted.  I am confident that they can do it on their own!  If needed, you are welcome to pull into one of our emergency parking spots.  Our goal is safety, but also to foster independence!  Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

The Genesis Parent Portal will be offline starting Friday, November 19th.  It will be reopened on December 13th.  Please reach out to your child’s teacher with any questions on specific grades and/or assignments.

A Note from Deanne Somers, Superintendent

Reminder that a Roseland Board of Education Meeting (agenda) is scheduled onsite at Noecker School for Thursday, November 18th at 7:30 PM. Please follow all safety guidelines if attending in person. If unable to attend, you may Zoom In and Listen . Public comment is limited to those onsite. The Roseland Board of Education has posted the position announcement for an Interim Superintendent effective February 1, 2022 on the district’s website . Additional notifications regarding the process will be forthcoming!

The Health & Safety Committee met this week as we head towards the end of Trimester 1 on December 10th! We are working on reinstating “changing classes” for our 5th and 6th graders for December 13th and all students actually going to their special area classrooms in January! Mr. Sandoval and the Playground Coordinators are exploring how to ensure safe and fun indoor recess as the colder weather sets in, and Mr. Sandoval and his Arrival/Dismissal Team are also considering how inclement weather may affect drop-off/pick-up. Temperature checks have been discontinued for staff and students; we ask for your continued diligence in checking in with your child each morning. It is exciting to make steps towards normalcy, but they are still steps. Not quite there yet!

Progress Reports: Hi Everyone. I want to first thank those of you who contributed ideas to the Parent Evening Workshop submission form. I have a new survey, now that the ideas have been all pooled together, for your input. Please, complete the following survey by selecting the three (3) topics that interest you the most and that you would be most interested in attending an evening workshop on. The survey will stay open until Monday, November 29th . Once all of the information is gathered and reviewed, we will share out the evening workshop topics and dates for the year. I am very excited to see your feedback and get these workshops scheduled and ready to run. Thank you, in advance, for your input.
