A Note from Raul Sandoval, Principal

Happy New Year to all! I hope the new year brings continued health, especially during these challenging times.  Although the numerical year has changed, our mission continues to be the same - teaching and learning!

In previous notifications, we included information about kindergarten and preschool registration, which is now open.  Interested families should read the next section for more detailed information.

Next week, there are several virtual events: parent workshops, an HSA meeting, and an open house for pre-k and kindergarten.  Please see our calendar at the end of this notification for more details.  We hope you can join us, especially for our rescheduled parent workshop presented by Good Grief.  The SEL workshop will take place before the HSA meeting.  Please use the link, embedded in our calendar below, to join us:

Parent Workshop Topic:   Being Is Doing: Supportive Communication Practices

Kindergarten and Preschool Registration for 2022-2023

We are so excited to announce that our 2022-2023 kindergarten and preschool registration will be opening up in January! To be eligible for Kindergarten, a child must live in Roseland and be five years of age on or before October 1, 2022.  Parents and guardians are invited to download and complete the Kindergarten registration packet at www.roselandnjboe.org . Click on District. Applications can also be picked up in the main office of the school.

To enroll your child in Preschool or Kindergarten, the registration packet must be returned to Mrs. Catherine Overbeck in the board office of Lester C. Noecker School by Friday, January 21, 2022. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Overbeck at 973-226-7644, extension 315 or at coverbeck@roselandnjboe.org.  If you haven’t done so already, please reach out to Mrs. Overbeck in the meantime to give her your child’s initial information so she can keep you updated on registration items/events throughout the rest of the year.

We will also hold a virtual kindergarten and preschool open house (see calendar below).  If you are interested in attending please email Mrs. Dallow at rdallow@roselandnjboe.org to RSVP!

A Note from Deanne Somers, Superintendent

Happy New Year, Noecker Family! I do hope this first Wednesday Notification of the new year finds you well. Times continue to be more challenging than we’d like, but just imagine how we will all feel when COVID is behind us!

“It’s not that optimism solves all of life’s problems; it is just that it can sometimes make the difference between coping and collapsing.” – Lucy MacDonald

We are continuing to monitor staffing closely. I remain so very appreciative of our teachers and staff for their ongoing attention to safety measures. They are all doing their part to keep us open and ensure the health of our school community! Thank you, Noecker Staff! 💗

& thank you for your understanding and flexibility this unexpectedly slippery morning! The timing made it all the more challenging for all of us, but the majority of staff were here in time for our students as they arrived. We will be watching *Friday’s weather* as it is surely *January* now.
