COVID-19 Isolation and Quarantine Updates

Please see (or click here) today’s e-blast pertaining to the, effective January 11th, updated timelines for isolation and quarantine.

A Note from Raul Sandoval, Principal

The cold chill of winter is upon us! We started our week off with a Special Education parent workshop and the Kindergarten Virtual Open House.  Thank you to all of our families who joined us! Today we have our Pre-School Virtual Open House, HSA meeting, and our fourth SEL workshop on building resilience.  The workshop is at 6:30 pm and the zoom link can be accessed by clicking here .  Please note that the same link will be used for the HSA meeting at 7:30 pm.  We hope to see you there! Lastly, the West Essex Middle School counselors will be visiting our 6th graders tomorrow from 9:00 am to 10:00 am.  They will have a special presentation and a “Q&A” session for students.  Sixth grade families should have received an e-blast from WEMS yesterday with additional information on what’s to come for your future middle-schooler.

A Note from Deanne Somers, Superintendent

A Note from Dr. Richard Celebre, Director of Special Services

This past week, the Special Education Parent/Administration Collaboration hosted our first Virtual Parent Workshop on An In Depth Overview of the Special Education Programs at Noecker . I want to thank the parent and teacher leaders who took the time to help contribute to making sure this program was a successful first workshop. For those that weren’t able to attend, the teachers discussed the benefits of class size, pacing, adherence to curriculum standards, and placement within the continuum of available programs, as defined by least restrictive environment.  The presentations shared by the teachers are attached here ( Inclusion , Resource , Self-Contained ). They will also be uploaded to the P/AC Google Site's Resource Page , as well.

Looking (way!) Ahead - Our next parent workshop is on the calendar for Monday, March 7th with a topic of Accommodations and Modifications - What are available to your children in school and at home? Planning, a flyer, and additional information will be forthcoming!

Current Sixth Grade Families - In collaboration with the West Essex Child Study Team, case managers for current sixth grade families will be in touch to begin coordinating transition planning meetings for the move up to the middle school.

Save The Date - There is an upcoming SEPAC Parent Collaboration Meeting on Thursday, January 20th. More information will be forthcoming once available.
