A Note from Raul Sandoval, Principal

I want to wish everyone the very best during this holiday season.  As we welcome the new year, I hope you take this time to reflect on 2021.   Traditions like our Halloween Parade and the Holiday Bazaar are back and have brought us closer to a more normal Noecker year.  Although we don’t know what lies ahead, we remain committed to doing what is best for our school community.  Together we will make 2022 even better.  Happy Holidays and I wish families continued health and happiness. 

Switching Classes  

At last month’s Health & Safety Committee meeting, we discussed switching classes (grade 5, 6, and specials for all grades) starting January 3rd.  Given the rise of cases across the state and Essex County moving into the High Risk category, we are postponing switching until January 18th.   Should anything change we will notify families.  

I am happy to announce that the Virtual Winter Concert will be ready for your viewing pleasure tomorrow, December 23rd.  Students and staff have been working hard to prepare a special presentation for Noecker Families.  Please be on the lookout for an email tomorrow with a link to the concert!

 

Earlier this month we closed out our Table-to-Table fundraiser.  Noecker raised a total of $3,835.75 to help feed families in need across New Jersey!  Thank you so much to all the families who donated to such a worthy cause.  Above all else, we hope this initiative continues to be a powerful teachable moment for our students on hunger awareness. 

 

Start Strong - We have received the Individual Student Reports for Start Strong.  We will be mailing them tomorrow along with a cover letter that contains additional information.  Please be on the lookout for that mailing.  

LCN COVID-19 Dashboard - UPDATED!

• Updated Health & Safety Commitment Required January 3rd.  

• Vaccination Updates, Travel Reminders, COVID Numbers, Questions and Answers can ALL be found on the LCN COVID-19 Dashboard . Please please be familiar with *updated* travel guidelines and testing requirements, particularly for unvaccinated individuals. Cases ARE rising , so please remain attentive to COVID symptoms and follow all health and safety guidelines .

• Please provide Nurse Noronha a copy of updated vaccination records if/once your child is fully vaccinated. Without documentation, individuals are considered unvaccinated and must follow unvaccinated guidelines. Individuals are considered fully vaccinated * 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series. 

• Testing/Quarantine Reminder - if anyone in the household is positive, symptomatic, OR waiting for test results, please keep your child home and refer to the LCN COVID-19 Dashboard or call us for guidance!

Reminder that the annual Reorganization Roseland Board of Education Meeting is scheduled onsite at Noecker School for Thursday,  January 6th at 7:30 PM and will be immediately followed by a Regular Meeting. Please follow all safety guidelines if attending in person. If unable to attend, you may Zoom In and Listen . Public comment is limited to those onsite. 

A Note from Dr. Richard Celebre, Director of Special Services

With our Winter Break only a minimum day away, I wanted to take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy and healthy holiday season. I know I am personally looking forward to the extended time with my wife and children as we celebrate the holiday and the new year.  

Reminder - I wanted to leave the reminder for the Special Education Parent/Administration Collaboration invitation to our first (virtual!) parent evening workshop, scheduled for Monday, January 10th from 6:30 - 7:30. The workshop will be an in-depth overview of Special Education programs available here at Noecker, hosted in mini breakout room sessions by our Noecker staff. Kindergarten and Preschool Registration for 2022-2023

We are so excited to announce that our 2022-2023 kindergarten and preschool registration will be opening up in January! To be eligible for Kindergarten, a child must live in Roseland and be five years of age on or before October 1, 2022.  Parents and guardians are invited to download and complete the Kindergarten registration packet at www.roselandnjboe.org . Click on District. Applications can also be picked up in the main office of the school. 

To enroll your child in Preschool or Kindergarten, the registration packet must be returned to Mrs. Catherine Overbeck in the board office of Lester C. Noecker School by Friday, January 22, 2022. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Overbeck at 973-226-7644, extension 315 or at coverbeck@roselandnjboe.org.  If you haven’t done so already, please reach out to Mrs. Overbeck in the meantime to give her your child’s initial information so she can keep you updated on registration items/events throughout the rest of the year.
