   A Note from Raul Sandoval, Principal

We hope that all Noecker families are well and looking forward to a much needed spring break.  We have several important dates and deadlines that are fast approaching.  Two of our biggest events are now on the calendar.  Our spring concert will be May 17th (rain date May 18th) and The Moving Up Ceremony (graduation) for grade 6 is scheduled for June 15th (rain date June 16th).  As we finalize our courses, scheduling, and staffing , please remember to fill out the Summer Enrichment 1-6 interest form .  Additional dates and events can be viewed at the bottom of this notification.  Read on!  

Take-Your-Child-To-Work Day

Thursday, April 28th is Take-Your-Child-To-Work Day.  If your child will be participating please click here to complete the form.  This will allow us to record your child’s attendance as an excused absence.  Please fill out the Google form as soon as possible.  

The NJ Consortium for GT Programs (NJCGTP) has partnered with the Morris Museum. On March 31st, winners from the Superhero poster contest and Do you want to build a snowman competition were able to see their work on display! The posters and snowmen are displayed in the Museum Spark Lab until April 23rd! We are so proud to have Arnav Jadhav, Priyanka Sooknanan, and NIna Garcia representing Roseland!

Cyber-Safety Night for Parents!   New Date is May 24th!

The new date for our Cyber-Safety Night is May 24th at 7:00 pm.  During the school day, Sgt. Rich will be presenting to students in grade 3-4 and 5-6 in separate information sessions.  

  Kindergarten Summer Enrichment 2022 Registration Open!  

Kindergarten Summer Enrichment Program Registration is now open!  The program will run Monday-Thursday from July 6, 2022 - July 28, 2022 (no program on Fridays). The registration deadline is May 2, 2022.  All the details are in the packet, we look forward to an awesome program with our new incoming kindergarten students!  

A Note from Dr. Richard Celebre, Director of Special Services

Happy Wednesday. Last Friday marked the launch of our Autism Awareness & Acceptance Month here at Noecker. Throughout the month, students will be participating in a  series of knowledge growing, and engaging, activities for students planned by our Autism Awareness & Acceptance Month Teacher Committee. The following flier outlines the activities we have planned. This week, Mr. Sandoval has been reading two daily facts over the loudspeaker during morning announcements for the school - one which focuses on growing awareness, and another to help foster acceptance. The following video from Duke University is a useful source of information for those looking to learn more about Autism Spectrum Disorder. 

Current Sixth Grade Families - In collaboration with the West Essex Child Study Team, case managers for current sixth grade families will be in touch to continue coordinating transition planning meetings for the move up to the middle school.

Extended School Year - Case managers are beginning the process of recommending students for the Extended School Year (ESY) program within the context of an IEP meeting. If you have questions, do not hesitate to reach out to them directly. Eligibility is determined annually, based on the individual student’s progress and need. If your child is eligible, an email with class and schedule information will be forthcoming later in the year as we are just getting the planning underway. The program details mirror the Summer Enrichment Program, and will run Monday-Thursday from July 6, 2022 - July 28, 2022 (no program on Fridays).
