Good afternoon.  Below please find a summary of the key highlights from our October Board of Education meeting:

• Mr. Rutzky reviewed the new report card format which will be used this year
• Mr. Rutzky provided an overview of the upcoming use of Genesis, which will enable parents to access student report cards / grades online
• Mr. Rutzky discussed working with the bus company to adjust one of the routes next week to improve efficiency and reduce the amount of travel time to school. All affected families will be notified prior to the change going into effect. For next school year, an analysis will be completed on all routes by the bus company.
• Dr. Occhino previewed the audit results and indicated our accounting firm will make a full presentation at the next Board meeting
• Dr. Occhino reviewed the budget for our maintenance plan and will provide recommendations for next year for the finance committee
• Dr. Cleary provided an update on the walkathon, week of respect, fire prevention week and upcoming class pictures next week
• The Board approved:
  • Acceptance of generous HSA donation which will fund a new auditorium sound system, violins, field trips, cultural arts and more
  • Comprehensive three-year maintenance plan
  • Annual School nursing plan
  • Adoption of policy updates affecting tenure in accordance with revised law
• Congratulations to Ms. Dacosta who welcomed a baby girl, McCartney Grace
• The next Board meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 21 at 7:30pm in the Noecker Media Center
