Below please find a summary of the key highlights from our August Board of Education meeting:

• Mrs. Mary Anne Freidman of the NJSBA worked with the Board to review our achievements for the past year and set our Board and District goals for the 2013-2014 school year
• Mr. Bryan Respass explained to the Board how teachers will be able to use data from the new Genesis system to obtain better insights into student progress
• Mr. Rutzky reviewed the new report card format
• Mr. Rutzky reviewed the photo publicity permission form
• Mr. Rutzky informed the Board that the letters to parents with teacher information would be sent home by Monday, August 26th
• The Board approved:
  • Curriculum for the 2013-2014 school year
  • District and Board goals for 2013-2014 school year
  • Revised and new policies
  • Mrs. Maria Cleary as the Interim Principal for Mrs. Dacosta’s maternity leave during the months of October and November
  • Aides to ride each afternoon bus in September and October to help the children, specifically the kindergarten students
• The Board welcomed Vincent Occhino as new Interim Business Administrator
• The next Board meeting is scheduled for Thursday, September 26 at 7:30pm in the Noecker Media Center
