As we head into the final stretch before Thanksgiving, we’re reminded of the importance of gratitude and community. This time of year offers a wonderful opportunity to pause and appreciate the people around us.  

And speaking of appreciation, we’re also looking forward to our Veterans Day Presentation, which will take place right before the break. It’s a meaningful tradition that allows our students to honor and thank those who have served.

Believe it or not, our winter concerts are right around the corner.   As the date approaches, we will send out more detailed information!

Get ready for an unforgettable day of tricks, laughter, and school spirit as the world-famous Harlem Wizards take on our very own Noecker staff and community members! 

Get ready for some high-flying fun! Harlem Wizards tickets go on sale this Black Friday — mark your calendars and stay tuned for all the magical details coming soon! 

This incredible event will bring our entire community together — and we need YOUR help to make it a slam dunk success! 

We’re looking for volunteers to help with:

Sponsorships – Help bring in local business sponsors to support the event!

Concessions – Coordinate snacks, drinks, and sweet treats for the crowd!

Souvenirs – Manage fun Wizards merchandise sales the night of the game!

Raffles – Organize prize baskets and ticket sales for exciting giveaways!

Day-of Volunteers – Help with setup, check-in, crowd flow, and clean-up!

Whether you can lead a committee or lend a hand the day of, there’s a place for everyone on Team Noecker!

Epilepsy Awareness Month

According to the Epilepsy Foundation , epilepsy is the fourth most common neurological disorder in the world. The word "epilepsy" simply means the same thing as "seizure disorders." If you have epilepsy, surges of electrical activity in your brain can cause recurring seizures.  Epilepsy is considered a spectrum disorder and there are many different types of seizures and types of epilepsy syndromes.   A diagnosis of epilepsy does not define the cause or the outlook.  The impact of epilepsy on a person will vary depending on the type, frequency and severity of seizures, areas of the brain affected, cause of the epilepsy, how a person responds to treatment, and underlying brain abnormalities that are present.

There are now 3 major groups of seizures:

1. Focal onset seizures: Focal seizures start in one area or group of cells on one side of the brain.

2. Generalized onset seizures: These seizures affect both sides of the brain or groups of cells on both sides of the brain at the same time.

3. Unknown onset seizures: When the beginning of a seizure is not known, it’s referred to as an unknown onset seizure.

Treatments available for epilepsy include anti-seizure medication, surgery, prescribed dietary therapy, or neurostimulation devices.  To administer first aid to an individual having a seizure, remember the following: Stay. Safe. Side.

STAY with the person until they are awake and alert after the seizure, time the seizure. Keep the person SAFE from harm. Turn the person onto their SIDE if they are not awake and aware, keep the airway clear. Do NOT put anything in their mouth. Do NOT restrain. Call 911 if the seizure lasts longer than 5 minutes; repeated seizures; difficulty breathing; seizure occurs in water; person is injured, pregnant or sick; person does not return to their usual state, first time seizure; or the person asks for medical help.

Health Reminder ❣️

Please be sure to monitor your child for symptoms. If they are not feeling well, please keep them home, and they must be symptom free for 24 hours before returning to school. In addition, Noecker requires that you not send your child to school if they present with the following:

• Fever in the past 24 hours. Do not give “Tylenol” before school, in an attempt to “get through the day”. Must be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school without the use of fever-reducing medicine.

• Flu-like symptoms - Must be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school without the use of fever-reducing medicine.

• Vomiting and/or diarrhea in the past 24 hours - Must be illness-free for 24 hours before returning to school.

• Bad cold, with a very runny nose or sore throat with a bad cough, especially if it has kept the child awake at night or cannot participate in school.

• Unknown rashes- Must be seen by a physician to be identified and return to school only if the student is not contagious with a doctor’s note stating this with the diagnosis.

• Strep Throat- Must be on an antibiotic for 24 hours before returning to school.

• Conjunctivitis- Must be on prescription eye drops 24 hours before returning to school.

School Lunch

We offer a cashless pay option for our school lunch through www.Payschoolscentral.com   However, if you do not wish to use the online system, you may send in an envelope with cash or a check and it will be deposited here at school.  If you have any questions please call the main office at extension 389.  

Please also note that parents have the option to turn “on” and “off” the ability for their child to buy snacks on their www.payschoolscentral.com account.   You can also view the Maschio’s flier by clicking here .
