Note from Raul Sandoval, Principal

Welcome back! We hope you and your family enjoyed a restful and refreshing winter break. As we return to Noecker, our classrooms are once again filled with energy, curiosity, and excitement for learning. We look forward to a productive stretch ahead as students continue to grow academically and socially, supported by our dedicated staff and strong school community.

Please make sure to view our calendar of events for the month of January as things begin to ramp up!

Gifted & Talented News

Today, our 6th Grade Gifted & Talented students represented Roseland at the Essex County Gifted & Talented Forensics Interpretive Reading Competition . Participants demonstrated strong comprehension and thoughtful interpretation of a selected text, along with clear delivery and effective nonverbal communication.  The competition features two divisions: Junior Varsity (Grades 5–6) and Varsity (Grades 7–8). While students compete individually, their scores are also combined to determine team placements. We are proud to share that our Roseland team earned 2nd place in the Junior Varsity division!  Congratulations to our students!

Health Reminder ❣️

We are seeing an uptick in flu-like cases! Please be sure to monitor your child for symptoms. If they are not feeling well, please keep them home, and they must be symptom free for 24 hours before returning to school. In addition, Noecker requires that you not send your child to school if they present with the following:

  • Fever in the past 24 hours. Do not give “Tylenol” before school, in an attempt to “get through the day”. Must be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school without the use of fever-reducing medicine.

  • Flu-like symptoms - Must be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school without the use of fever-reducing medicine.

  • Vomiting and/or diarrhea in the past 24 hours - Must be illness-free for 24 hours before returning to school.

  • Bad cold, with a very runny nose or sore throat with a bad cough, especially if it has kept the child awake at night or cannot participate in school.

  • Unknown rashes- Must be seen by a physician to be identified and return to school only if the student is not contagious with a doctor’s note stating this with the diagnosis.

  • Strep Throat- Must be on an antibiotic for 24 hours before returning to school.

  • Conjunctivitis- Must be on prescription eye drops 24 hours before returning to school.
