February 4, 2026

February 4, 2026

Note from Raul Sandoval, Principal

February is here! Thank you to everyone who came out to support the Harlem Wizards game on February 1st! It was an unforgettable day of fun, school spirit, and community connection.

This week is National School Counseling Week, with the theme “School Counselors Amplify Student Success.” We want to give a huge shout-out to our amazing school counselor, Mrs. Cummings, for all she does each day to support our students academically, socially, and emotionally. We are so grateful for her dedication and care!

We are also proud to host the Essex County G&T Committee’s annual Totally Global Competition today. Fourth and fifth grade students from Roseland, Cedar Grove, Essex Fells, Fairfield, West Orange, Belleville, and Verona came together in mixed-district teams to collaborate and solve a variety of engaging social studies challenges. It was wonderful to see students demonstrating teamwork, critical thinking, and global awareness throughout the day.  We are proud to report that there was a Noecker student on each of the placing teams! Gabe was on the 3rd place team, Audriana was on the 2nd place team, and Capri was on the 1st place team. Congratulations to all and kudos to Mrs. Clarke

Lastly, February marks the beginning of Black History Month, a time to honor and reflect on the achievements, contributions, and history of African Americans. We look forward to meaningful learning experiences throughout the month.

Health Reminder ❣️

We have seen an uptick in flu cases! Please be sure to monitor your child for symptoms. If they are not feeling well, please keep them home, and they must be symptom free for 24 hours before returning to school. In addition, Noecker requires that you not send your child to school if they present with the following:

  • Fever in the past 24 hours. Do not give “Tylenol” before school, in an attempt to “get through the day”. Must be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school without the use of fever-reducing medicine.

  • Flu-like symptoms - Must be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school without the use of fever-reducing medicine.

  • Vomiting and/or diarrhea in the past 24 hours - Must be illness-free for 24 hours before returning to school.

  • Bad cold, with a very runny nose or sore throat with a bad cough, especially if it has kept the child awake at night or cannot participate in school.

  • Unknown rashes- Must be seen by a physician to be identified and return to school only if the student is not contagious with a doctor’s note stating this with the diagnosis.

  • Strep Throat- Must be on an antibiotic for 24 hours before returning to school.

  • Conjunctivitis- Must be on prescription eye drops 24 hours before returning to school.
